Blockstory Armored Door Chain

The Blockstory Armored Door Chain is a steel door chain that allows a door to be opened a few centimeters for verification of a visitor’s identity before fully opening, with the chain preventing the door from being pushed fully open by someone outside. The standard door chain — a lightweight chrome plated fitting — is easily defeated by shoulder impact. The Blockstory Armored Door Chain uses a 6mm hardened steel chain and a reinforced door plate and frame plate, both manufactured from 3mm steel with four fixing points each, that resist the impact forces applied in a door forcing attempt. The chain length allows the door to open 100mm — sufficient for speaking and for documents to be passed through — without permitting a person to reach the chain release. The chain is concealed inside a steel housing when fully retracted, presenting a clean appearance when the door is in normal use. The door plate and frame plate are pre-drilled and supplied with 60mm wood screws for installation into standard timber frames. Dimensions: Chain length 200mm. Weight: 310g.
